Sidebar · Private Coaching for Attorneys

Even the Advocate
Needs an Advocate.

Private coaching for attorneys who are still winning  and quietly running on empty.

A sidebar is the conversation held off the record, because what needs saying cannot be said in open court. This is that conversation, about your career.

Application only. Read personally by Jeremy. Your firm is never involved.

Is This You?

You Are Not Failing. That Is The Part Nobody Understands.

This is not for attorneys who are falling apart. It is for the ones holding it together so convincingly that nobody has thought to ask.

This is for you if:

  • Your work is still good. Nobody at the firm would describe you as struggling.

  • Your best thinking happens at eleven at night, because that is the first quiet hour you have had.

  • You have read the same paragraph four times and billed the time anyway.

  • You have started keeping quiet track of how many drinks it takes to come down.

  • You have thought seriously about leaving law, then talked yourself out of it before lunch.

  • You have considered getting assessed for ADHD and stopped cold at what it might mean for your license.

If you recognised yourself in three of those, the rest of this page is worth your time.

The Problem

The Billable Hour Is a Machine for Measuring Attention.

A Six minutes at a time. All day. And it does not care where the attention went — only that you can account for it.

The profession recruited you for the opposite skill set. Verbal firepower. Hyperfocus. The ability to hold an entire case in your head at two in the morning and win the room the next day. Law school rewarded exactly that.

Then the job quietly changed underneath you. Time capture. Docketing. Calendaring. Follow-through on the eleven small things that were never the interesting part. The work that made you excellent is now maybe a fifth of the day, and the rest is administration that punishes the way your brain actually runs.

And the stakes are not ordinary. A missed detail here is not a forgotten email. It is a deadline, a malpractice exposure, a grievance.

So you compensate. Longer hours to cover the same ground. Something at night to bring the volume down. And you tell yourself this is simply what practising law costs.

The one thing that would actually help is the one thing you cannot risk having written down. So you do nothing, and another year goes by.

Open Decision 3 — No Copy Written

The 2023 "2x suicide contemplation" statistic is left off this mockup. Per the spec, it requires primary-source verification and a 988 crisis line placed directly adThe spec is explicit that no story copy should be drafted here — existing brand materials contain two conflicting versions of the career-exit story, and guessing risks publishing an inaccuracy in the most scrutinised section of the page.

Layout is built and ready: 400–600 words, narrow single column (~60–70 characters/line), one photo break, one large pull-quote (choose the line about the cost, not the triumph), CTA directly below. Beats required in order: credential → the moment it stopped working → the cost → the turn → why attorneys. Drop Jeremy's canonical version straight into this shell.jacent before it can run. Before You Decide

Three Things Standing In The Way

THE VEHICLE

This Is Not About Processing Your Feelings.

It is about redesigning a system that is failing under load. You would not run a firm on a filing process that broke every quarter and call it a character flaw. The same logic applies to the way you are running yourself.

Jeremy is a licensed clinician with an MBA. He understands the interior work and the business of practising. Most coaches have one of those. Almost none have both.

THE TIME

You Are Already Spending the Time.

At eleven at night. At two in the morning. In the twenty minutes lost to reading the same paragraph four times. In the Sunday that disappears to dread about Monday.

Sidebar is built around a live docket, not around an ideal week that never arrives.

CONFIDENTIALITY

If I Do This, Does It Follow Me?

Open Decision 4 — Legal Review Required

This block makes a claim about confidentiality, records, and reportability for a licensed professional audience — the spec requires it to come from counsel, not copywriting. Do not fill this card until legal sign-off (Section 14) is confirmed. This is the objection that decides the sale, so it's worth the wait.
